Dear swimming friends, dear ladies and gentlemen,

when we canceled last year we still had the hope of seeing each other again this year. Now there is the sad certainty: this year there will also be no International Swim Meet in Werdohl.

Even if the number of infections has declined sharply in recent weeks and our outdoor pool in Ütterlingsen has now reopened, the pandemic is not yet over. We're just on the home stretch, but haven't crossed the finish line yet.

With the renewed postponement of the 36th International Swim Meet, we are taking responsibility also for your health. Nobody can predict how the mutants will behave and how the vaccination process will develop in young people.

We can repeat our statement from last year: The International Swim Meet is more than just a sporting competition in the water. It also stands for the encounter and exchange of young people on a European level. The lightheartedness and the flair of the event would again be overshadowed by the virus. The positive memories of the last few years should not be clouded by a "Corona event".

Please understand our decision. We hope to see you again on September 3rd and 4th, 2022 in Werdohl.
